A Japanese billionaire is looking for a partner to take him to the moon

Japanese billionaire Yusaku Maezawa's search for a girlfriend to accompany him on a trip around the moon will be the subject of a new documentary in the businessman's latest exciting adventure.

Maezawa, 44, invited single women over the age of XNUMX to join the program, which will be shown by broadcasting service Abima TV.

Maezawa sold the fashion retail website Zuzu to SoftBank Group Inc. "With feelings of loneliness and emptiness flowing into me, there is one thing on my mind: to continue to love one woman," he wrote on a website that receives applications to join the programme.

He added, “I want to find a life partner. And with this future life partner, I would like to shout out love and world peace from outer space.”

Maezawa is scheduled to go on his trip around the moon in 2023, becoming the first passenger on a private flight belonging to the "SpaceX" company, owned by Elon Musk.

Maezawa, who recently broke up with actress Ayame Goriki, 27, said he plans to take artists with him so that the experience, which he dubbed "Deer Moon", will inspire them.

The documentary program, which will be entitled "Full Moon Lovers", will be shown on the "Abima TV" service, and is aimed at an audience of young television lovers.

The website for applications to join the program says that those wishing to participate should be "interested in going to space and able to participate in the preparation for it."

Receipt of applications for the program ends on January 17, and Maezawa will choose his partner by the end of March.

The documentary is the latest big step taken by the billionaire, who is distributing $9 million to his Twitter followers, seeking to spark debate about the benefits of the idea of ​​a basic income in Japan.
