Months after the death of the overbearing doctor, which saddened millions, an Egyptian doctor decided to reopen the clinic of Dr. Mohamed Mashali, the late obscurantist doctor in Tanta, Gharbia Governorate, northern Egypt, in which he treated his patients at a low price, not exceeding 10 pounds.

Dr. Hosni Saad Qutb, a consultant in hepatology and surgery at Al-Minshawi General Hospital in Tanta, announced the opening of Dr. Muhammad Mashali’s clinic after agreeing with the family of the late doctor on this, provided that the value of the examination does not exceed 15 pounds (equivalent to one dollar) for all patients and the poor who frequent the clinic. .

The doctor told “Al-Arabiya.net” that as a person first and a doctor second, he refuses to close the clinic, which was a door to hope for the treatment of the poor, and Nour’s energy to relieve their aches and pains, in light of the high examination fees, and the spread of the Corona epidemic, stressing that Agreed With the family on the opening of the clinic to complete the path of the late doctor.

He said that he decided to work in two shifts in the clinic to receive patients and the poor, especially as he was referred to retirement from his government work and has sufficient time to allocate to patients, noting that he will work seven days a week to provide the medical service, which was provided by Dr. Muhammad Mashali, after renovating the clinic and providing it with equipment and tools. necessary and will devote a little time to his other private clinic in Tanta.

On July 28, Dr. Mohamed Mashali, known in Egypt as the “doctor of the poor,” died, due to a sudden drop in blood circulation.

The late “doctor of the poor” was born in a village in the Beheira Governorate in 1944, graduated from the Cairo Medical College in 1967, and succeeded in registering his name in letters of light in the hearts of Egyptians after he devoted his life to serving the poor.

The “doctor of the poor” rose to positions within the hospitals of the Gharbia Governorate, and assigned his clinics to the treatment of the poor and the sick. In one of his statements, he said that he decided to give himself to serve the poor and treat them, adding that he was from a poor and humble family, and given what he and his brothers had suffered, this made him feel the suffering of the poor.

The late doctor revealed, in a television interview, that he starts his day by waking up at half past seven in the morning, then goes to his clinic and stays there until the Maghrib call to prayer, then returns to his home, and then goes to the other two clinics in two villages adjacent to Tanta to sign a medical examination for the sons of the two villages, stressing that the examination price is in The two clinics are only 5 pounds.

The late doctor’s most influential words were: “I grew up poor, and the beans and falafel sandwiches suffice me, and I do not want to wear clothes of thousands of pounds or take a 10-meter car.”
