Palestine honors the late Hatem Ali by giving his name to one of its main streets in Tulkarm.
The Syrian-Palestinian director Hatem Ali passed away on November 29, 2020, leaving behind the love of the Arab public, and he has always translated in his films and series the suffering of Arab peoples, and one of his most important works is “The Palestinian Strange”.
The governor of Tulkarm, Issam Abu Bakr, stressed the artistic, patriotic and humanitarian status that “Syrian director Hatem Ali” represented, through his dramatic works in support of the Palestinian people’s cause, their right to self-determination, and the establishment of their independent state.
The Palestinian Minister of Culture, Atef Abu Seif, said that “naming the street in Tulkarm after the director Hatem Ali came out of loyalty and appreciation for this stature, and in honor of his role in supporting the Palestinian cause through his dramatic contributions.”
