A Saudi artist whose paintings are based on tiles

Rehab Zekri is a Saudi artist from the influence school that relies on shadows and light.

The Saudi plastic artist, Rehab Khaled Zakri, indicated, in her interview with Al Arabiya.net, that drawing was her talent from a young age when she was drawing cartoon characters, then entered the real world of portraiture, then the impact school, to develop her talent through practice and visual nutrition, and to participate in her drawings in Social Media.

She said: "I relied in drawing and shaping on the use of oil colors with a wet technique, until I started using tiles and different materials, and achieved a clear distinction by using natural materials and their various details, until I joined the College of Design and Architecture."

She also separated from her technician a sign: “I deal with the weight of the heavy tiles, and I break them in a random way to get small and different pieces that enable me to draw on these pieces, which have turned into innovative shapes, and I draw my ideas from nature and the environment around me, and I hijack from my personal experiences and simple situations. So many ideas that turn into an artistic feeling until I come up with a painting that has cosplay.”

The artist, Rehab, participated in many competitions in drawing and plastic photography for the years 2015 and 2016, and won first place at the level of Jazan, and fourth at the level of Saudi Arabia. She also participated in the Misk Arts competition 2019.
