Meghan Markle's father suffers a stroke and her sister accuses her of causing it

Meghan Markle's father Thomas was taken to hospital on Monday night, after it was believed he had suffered a stroke.

TMZ news site reported that the 77-year-old retired TV lighting manager was taken in an ambulance from Tijuana, Mexico, to California, where pictures spread of him on a patient stretcher with an oxygen mask on his face.

According to the outlet, Thomas was taken across the border to a hospital in Chula Vista, California, around 9:30 p.m. Reportedly, he was unable to speak to paramedics and had to write down his symptoms on a piece of paper.

Samantha Markle, Thomas's 57-year-old daughter, told the British newspaper "Daily Mail" in a statement: "My father is recovering in hospital. We ask for the family's privacy, for his health and well-being. He just needs peace and comfort.”

She added: “It is a mockery of how much my father was tortured and the hardships he went through thanks to my sister (Meghan Markle) neglecting him for the past few years. This is unforgivable.”

Thomas has previously made headlines; for not attending Meghan's royal wedding to Prince Harry in 2018; Because he had heart problems.

Meanwhile, Samantha blamed the Duchess of Sussex for her father's deteriorating health. She previously expressed her dissatisfaction with the presence of her sister and husband Prince Harry, the Nelson Mandela Centennial in London, where she wrote in a tweet: "How about honoring your father? Enough, enough..behave like a human being, like a woman..if our father dies, I will hold you accountable.” Since then, Samantha hasn't stopped talking about her.

According to multiple sources, Thomas' health condition indicates that he will not be able to attend the platinum jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II in London next week, as he had planned.

Meghan, 40, decided to separate from her father, after reports revealed that he had agreed with American photographers, to take pictures of her, before her royal wedding, in 2018.

Meghan had spoken about her relationship with her father during the controversial television interview with legendary presenter Oprah Winfrey, in March of last year, saying that she could not forgive his "betrayal".

She added, "I look at my child thinking about him and honestly I can't imagine doing anything to intentionally cause pain to my child... I can't imagine that; So it's hard for me to imagine what he did to me.”
