The death of the Jordanian artist, Yasser Al-Masry, in a tragic traffic accident!!

In a tragic accident that left the people of the artistic community in great sadness, the Jordanian actor Yasser Al-Masry died Thursday night, following a traffic accident. Al-Masry was transferred to the Mount of Olives Hospital in Zarqa, but he soon died.

The captain of the Jordanian Artists Syndicate, Hussein Al-Khatib Al-Masry, mourned and said that he had a traffic accident in the suburb of Mecca in Zarqa, which caused his death at the age of forty-seven. Al-Masry's body will be buried, on Friday, to the Hashemite cemetery in Zarqa.

Al-Masry was born in 1970 in Kuwait. He holds a Bachelor of Music Science from the Jordanian Academy of Music, specializing in the clarinet. He is also a member of the Jordanian Artists Syndicate. He is married to the Jordanian journalist Nisreen Al-Kurd, and he has three children.

He initially worked as a dance coach for popular and performing arts since 1986, then became involved in the artistic movement since the early nineties, starting as an actor in the play “Clacet” until his talent exploded in 2007 in his performance of the role of the knight and poet Nimr bin Adwan, and became famous through the Bedouin series “Nimr.” Bin Adwan”, in which he played the role of the prince of Arab Badia poets with perfection and brilliance, and it was his first absolute starring role.

He participated in many Jordanian, Arab, historical and Bedouin series.

He participated in many local and Arab festivals through a series of theatrical performances, as he worked as a coach for the National Ensemble of the Ministry of Culture, representing Jordan in most Arab and international festivals until the end of 2007.

In 2009, he received the State Incentive Award, shared equally with the Jordanian artist, Munther Rihana.

In 2012, he presented the “Tiki Awards” ceremony in its second session, with the participation of Ola Al-Faris. In August 2016, he was chosen by the Higher Organizing Committee of the Jordan Arab Media Festival in its third session, to present the opening ceremony.

For its part, the Ministry of Culture mourned the artist Yasser Al-Masry, who is one of the distinguished creative figures who presented a lot to the Jordanian and Arab art scene, most notably his role in the series “Nimer Bin Adwan” and his role in embodying the personality of the late President Gamal Abdel Nasser.

The Ministry of Culture considered his loss a great loss to the Arab art scene, as his roles left a clear imprint in the conscience of the Arab viewer, and the ministry also recalled his role as coach of the National Folklore Troupe.

The Ministry of Culture offered its condolences to the family of the late artist, to his fellow Jordanian and Arab artists, and to his Arab audience, who loved and followed him in all his serious and purposeful roles.
