Mohammed bin Salman launches the first Saudi company to manufacture electric cars

Today, Thursday, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman launched the "Seer" company, which is the first brand for the manufacture of electric cars in Saudi Arabia.

Prince Mohammed bin Salman said that the new company will contribute to attracting local and international investments, and will create many job opportunities for local talent.

SIER is a joint venture between the Public Investment Fund and Foxconn, and BMW will provide licenses for electric vehicle components to the company.

Sir will design, manufacture and sell electric cars, and will manufacture technical systems with self-driving cars, and the company's cars are scheduled to be available for sale in 2025, according to the Saudi Press Agency.

It is expected that the “Seer” company will attract foreign investments to the Kingdom of 562 million riyals, in addition to creating 30 direct and indirect jobs, and contributing to the GDP by 30 billion riyals by 2034.

It is noteworthy that Saudi Arabia has paid attention to the electric car sector, and owns the majority stake in the electric car manufacturer “Lucid”, as steps are accelerating towards establishing the first integrated factory for the production of electric cars in the Kingdom, as Lucid Company signed agreements to build the factory, which will have a production capacity of 155 cars annually. Its investments are estimated at more than 12 billion riyals
