Attachment is an excessive degree of love, and it can lead its owner to illness. He cannot abandon the person he is attached to, whatever the surrounding circumstances, and if he reaches a satisfactory degree, he will not be able to adapt and will not get used to the absence of the person to whom he is attached, even if he loses him for any reason. He may collapse psychologically.
Being attached to a person means that you have become a completely addicted person, and if you become addicted to someone in your life, as if you remained dependent on an artery that beats you, causing you to live, and if you leave it as if you cut this artery, so you have to face the problem to protect yourself.

What are the reasons for excessive attachment to a person?

Often the cause of people’s addiction is psychological pain, loss of tenderness and insecurity in childhood. This causes a lack of self-confidence. A simple attention from you is enough to make the lack of tenderness in childhood addicted to you and make you everything in his life.

We notice this case, perhaps with a friend or a family member, but we often find it in the relationship between a woman and a man, especially in our Arab countries, where the woman feels that she is helpless and unable to do anything without the man and is completely dependent on him, which creates a feeling of fear and loss. If this man comes out of her life, he is the source of her life completely.

How do you face this problem?

1- Try to take care of yourself spiritually, physically and healthily for you, not just to impress him.

2- Love yourself and admire it and give it its right to be loved by others .

3- Make your relationships multiple and do not cut them off, meaning I have a friend who is enough for the world, or I have a wife or husband…. There are family, neighbors, work, and hobbies of social relationships that maintain the balance of your personality, self-confidence and maturity in dealing.

4- Do not underestimate bad behavior towards you as a kind of justification because of your love for him. If you do not respect yourself, no one will respect you, even those who are addicted. No one has the right to disturb the peace of your life. “You really have to yourself.”

5- Do not be afraid of losing it, because the fear of losing something causes its definite loss.
