China bids farewell to Corona and declines in South Korea

According to the Chinese Ministry of Health, the vast majority of new infections with the virus (74 out of 78 infections) were recorded by people who contracted the infection outside the country and returned to it recently.

The number of imported cases recorded on Tuesday is twice the number of those recorded on Monday.

This comes as South Korea announced 76 new cases of the Corona virus, on Tuesday, continuing the downward trend in new cases, which raised hopes that the largest outbreak of the virus in Asia outside China may be slowing.

The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said the total number of cases in South Korea has reached 9037. The number of deaths increased by two to 120.

This marks the thirteenth consecutive day that South Korea has recorded nearly 100 new cases or fewer. South Korea reported the lowest number of infections on Monday since it peaked on February 29, when it recorded 909 cases.

In Thailand, a Health Ministry official said that the country recorded its second death from the Corona virus on Tuesday. Thailand has confirmed 721 cases of the virus.

Later today, the Cabinet will consider taking additional measures to help those affected by the virus outbreak.

In India, the authorities announced the discovery of 471 cases of the virus, on Monday, but health experts warned that a big jump in infections may be imminent, which will place a huge burden on the already dilapidated public health infrastructure.

India confirmed two deaths from the virus, bringing the number of deaths to 9. Officials said one of the deceased was a 54-year-old man who had never traveled abroad, which means the virus has started to spread locally.

Cuba has imposed a quarantine on all foreign tourists remaining on its territory, and Cuba has counted 40 confirmed cases of the Corona virus, and Cubans themselves are not allowed to leave the island without a permit.

And an Italian tourist died at the age of 61, as Cuba recorded the only death from the emerging corona virus on the island. All cases of HIV infection in the country are from foreigners or people who have had close contact with infected people.
