Mother's Day Celebration Date

Today, Mother’s Day, the Spring Festival, the festival of unlimited giving and joy, we imagine that the roots of this holiday extend to the distant past, and that rains on the sanctity of the mother and her great role.

It is celebrated in some countries to honor mothers, motherhood, the bond of a mother to her children, and the influence of mothers on society. Where they agreed on it with the desire of Western and European thinkers after they found children in their societies neglecting their mothers and not fully taking care of them, so they wanted to make a day a year to remind children of their mothers. Later, it was celebrated on many days and in various cities in the world, and it is mostly celebrated in the month of March, April or May.

The date of Mother's Day differs from one country to another. For example, in the Arab world, it is the first day of spring, that is, March 21. In Norway, it is celebrated on February 2. In Argentina it is October 3, and South Africa celebrates it on May 1. In the United States, the celebration is on the second Sunday of May every year.

Mother's Day is an American innovation and does not fall directly under the roof of the celebrations of mothers and mothers that have taken place all over the world

In 1912 Anna Jarvis founded the International Mother's Day Association. She emphasized that the term "mother's" should be singular and possessive - in English - not plural in the possessive form. To all families in honor of their mothers and for all mothers in the world. This appellation was used by United States President Woodrow Wilson in law as an official holiday in the United States. It was also used by the US Congress to make law. Other presidents have also referred to it in their advertisements focusing on Mother's Day.

The first Mother's Day celebration was in 1908, when Anna Jarvis memorialized her mother in America. After that, she started a campaign to make Mother's Day recognized in the United States. Despite her success in 1914, she was disappointed in 1920, because they stated that she did so for the sake of trade. Cities adopted Jeffrey's Day and it is now celebrated all over the world. In this tradition, each person presents a gift, card or memory to mothers and grandmothers.

Many festivities appeared in America to honor mothers during the 1870s and 1870s but these celebrations did not resonate at the local level. Jarvis makes no mention of Julia Ward's attempts to create Mother's Day for safety in 1870 nor does she mention about the protesters at school festivities demanding Children's Day among other holidays. She also didn't mention Mother's Day traditions on Sundays, but she always said Mother's Day was her idea alone. For more information on previous attempts, you can read the US report.

Most cities have derived Mother's Day from holidays that have emerged in the United States. It was also adopted by other cities and cultures, and Mother’s Day has many meanings related to different events, whether historical, religious or mythical, and it is celebrated on multiple dates.

There are other cases, as some countries previously had a day to celebrate to honor motherhood. After that, I adopted many of the external things that happen on American holidays, such as: giving the mother carnations or gifts.
