How do you control the argument and make the results in your favour?

How do you control the argument and make the results in your favour?

In life we sometimes have disagreements with people, these disagreements may be with your partner, with your manager, with your parents or with your friend.

When this happens, you have to be wise to let the discussion calm and not turn into a heated argument, but in this case it is easier said than done.

  • The first thing I would like to say is that it is the manner in which the conversation begins that determines the nature of the discussion.

Imagine that you are a student and that you share an apartment with another student, and in your opinion, that he does not share the house chores with you, if you say to him: Look, you never share with me the household chores.

Soon this discussion will turn into an argument, and if you say to him: I think we should reconsider how we divide the tasks of the house, or perhaps there is a better way to do this, the discussion will be more constructive.

  • My second tip is simple: If you are the culprit, just admit it

It's the easiest and best way to avoid an argument, just apologize to your parents, your partner, your friend... and go on, the other person will respect you in the future if you do that.

  • The third tip is not to overdo it.

Try not to exaggerate your arguments with others and start making accusations, such as saying things like: You always come home late when I need you, you never remember to buy what I asked you.... , Maybe that happened once or twice, but when you exaggerate it, this will make the other person think that you are illogical, and you will often make him stop listening to your arguments.

How do you control the argument and make the outcome in your favour?

Sometimes we can't avoid the conversation turning into an argument, but if you really start arguing with someone, it's important to keep things under control and there are ways to do that:

  • The most important thing is not to raise your voice: raising your voice will make the other person lose their minds as well. If you find yourself raising your voice, stop for a moment and take a deep breath.

If you can speak calmly and gently, you will find your partner more willing to think about what you are going to say.

  • It is very important to focus on the focus of your conversation: try to keep the topic you are talking about, do not bring old arguments or try to bring other reasons, just focus on solving the problem you are in, and leave other things for later.

For example: if you're arguing about household chores, you don't have to start talking about bills.

  • If you think the argument is going to get out of hand, then you can say to the other person, “I'd rather talk about this tomorrow when we both calm down.” You can then continue the discussion the next day when you both feel less nervous and angry.

This way, there are more chances that you will be able to reach an agreement, and the problem is much easier to solve than it was.

The majority of people think that arguing is a bad thing if it occurs, and this is not true. Conflict is a natural part of life, and dealing with conflict is an important part of any relationship, whether it is with a partner or a close friend.

If you don't learn to argue correctly, this will make you either a runaway and give up person and prefer failed solutions, or a hasty person who loses people after the first argument. Learn how to argue objectively and fairly. which you want.
