According to Kenyan media, the ruling was issued against Ruthie Kamandi, 24, who won the title of Miss Kenya, while she was in prison, for accusing her of killing her boyfriend by performing 25 stab wounds to his body.

The judge who issued the death sentence against Kamandi indicated that he wanted people to know that it was not acceptable for young men to kill their partners when they were frustrated or disappointed.
