The Duke of Sussex was stripped of his military titles, including Commander in Chief of Ships and Submarines, and Honorary Commander of the RAF in February 2021, after he and his wife, Megan, announced that they would relinquish their royal duties.
In a statement marking the 358th anniversary of the founding of the Infantry Corps, NavyThe monarchy, King Charles said he was "exceptionally proud" to become its honorary president, adding: "I am exceptionally proud to follow in the footsteps of so many members of my family over the past three and a half centuries, all of whom have filled this position with a deep sense of admiration." The British king's decision came a day after it was announced that Prince Harry's controversial memoir "SPARE" would be released on January 10.
