However, a strong rumor emerged that she was on good terms with the Germans, being in a relationship with a Nazi officer.

It was said that she cooperated with German intelligence and was arrested after the liberation of France on charges of collaborating with Germany.

Then she was released and traveled to Switzerland, where she was absent from her work for a while.

During her absence from France, Wertheimer returned to Paris and asked Coco to take her share for $400.000 and 2% of all the products.

He gave her limited rights to sell her perfumes in Switzerland, so Coco signed the agreement

And she stopped issuing perfumes, and sold her full rights to Wertheimer in return for a monthly salary.
