When a child faints from crying, how do you deal with bouts of breath holding in children?

It is a healthy, temporary (pathological) phenomenon that occurs in children after intense crying resulting from a state of anger with severe pain, intense fear, or failure to respond to a specific request.
It leads to short and temporary breath holding, leading to a state of coma.
The age that begins in this case is 6 months and usually stops automatically before the age of 6 years
It is rare to see them before the age of 6 months.
Syndrome attacks ... take one of two clinical forms:
1. The first is represented by the blue form or bluish bouts of breath-holding, as the child begins to cry suddenly after his request is rejected or disturbed by some reason, reaching a stage during which the mouth remains open with no sound from it, and then the child begins the stage of cyanosis that increases leading to fainting and may be followed by a seizure Generalized throughout the body, lasting for seconds to one minute, after which the child resumes breathing to become conscious.

2. The second form of pale breath-holding spells
It comes under the influence of a poignant accident, and the child suddenly becomes pale in color, unconscious, a state of fainting due to hyperstimulation of the vagus nerve with pain or fear, which causes slowing of the heart.

What is distinctive is that these cases occur in children who appear excessive in movement, or are quarrelsome and get angry.

The situation is frightening and disturbing for those who see it, but it must be emphasized that it is completely healthy, so mothers are advised
Control their nerves and not deal with excessive emotionality because the intelligent child will take advantage of this situation.
The child should undergo a clinical examination to rule out other causes of syncope, such as arrhythmia.
Orthostatic hypotension
- hypoglycemia
Convulsions and convulsions.
When referring to the specialist, he will conduct a clinical examination of the child, measure pressure and conduct a complete blood count, because there is an association between the condition and iron deficiency anemia.
In cases selected by the doctor, he may order an electrocardiogram and an EEG to rule out other causes
Measure when the situation is repeated, no emotion, no anger from the mother
There is no punishment for the child after the seizure or appeasement for him
Lay it on its side and remove any food from its mouth to prevent inhalation

In general, there is no drug treatment and these seizures stop automatically after he grows up a little and enters adolescence
