This is why King Charles will not live in the famous Buckingham Palace
Some media sources have stated that King Charles does not intend to move to Buckingham Palace because it is not "suitable" for modern life and its maintenance is not "sustainable".
The source said that King Charles, who has lived with his wife Camilla in Clarence House since 2003, does not want to move into what he calls the "big house", according to the British Daily Mail.
Under the new plans, Buckingham Palace will become the royal family's main business headquarters, with Charles' team working from there.
It comes as the palace is midway through a £369m taxpayer-funded ten-year renovation project, which is unlikely to be completed until 2027, sources have said.
A source said, "I know he's not a fan of the 'big house' as the palace is called, he doesn't see it as a viable future home or a fit-for-purpose home in the modern world."
He added that he feels that his maintenance, from a cost and environmental perspective, is not sustainable, with other sources confirming that Camilla feels the same way.
It is understood that the King would manage the affairs of state from Buckingham Palace, with Clarence House remaining his actual home.
