Many know that daily SPF use, a diligent skincare routine, and a nutrient-packed diet can encourage period protection and reduce wrinkles during aging. According to Mind Your Body Green, these are important factors, but if a person needs a little extra care, there are supplements that focus on skin care and can be of great help.

4 Scientifically Backed Ingredients

Experts have developed an advanced nutritional supplement formula consisting of four scientifically backed ingredients that benefit aging skin and enhance its texture, as follows:

1. Astaxanthin

When approaching the stage of aging, according to dermatologist Kira Barr, the effects of oxidative stress on the skin must be taken into account, because it can lead to “the breakdown of collagen and elastin, which makes the skin wrinkle and sag,” and thus antioxidants, especially the compound Astaxanthin is a powerful carotenoid that helps fight oxidative stress in the skin.

2. Coenzyme QTen

The dietary supplement contains Coenzyme Q10 which is a coenzyme for the fat-soluble coenzyme found in all cells of the body, which is needed by cells to secrete ATP energy and function normally, including skin cells. CoQ10 is also a powerful antioxidant, as it is the only fat-soluble antioxidant that our bodies make on their own. Small amounts of CoQ10 can be obtained by eating foods such as broccoli, peanuts, and fish, but it is difficult to get enough to support standard levels with age, because CoQ10 levels decrease at the same time.

"The protective antioxidant effects of CoQ10 have been demonstrated in human keratinocytes and fibroblasts, which are key types of cells essential for healthy skin," explained nutrition scientist Professor Ashley Jordan Ferreira. "CoQ10 is clinically proven to be a supplement that improves skin elasticity and smoothness while reducing wrinkles and fine lines," she added.

And while results from all products containing CoQ10 are not equal, the form of ubiquinol, an important antioxidant, energy aid, and skin-focused bioactive is the most bioavailable and bioactive in the body, which is why it is included in this innovative nutritional supplement.

3. Phytoceramides

Many topical skin care products contain ceramides, as they synthesize about 50% of the skin's barrier, which plays a key role in how youthful it is.

According to Hannah Friembg, medical editor at MBG, supporting ceramides at the surface level with topicals is important, but supplementation is arguably more important. Scientific studies show that taking phytoceramides, i.e. carefully extracted from plants, in beneficial doses from a targeted supplement yields the best benefits.

4. Whole Pomegranate Fruit Extract

Pomegranate contains a range of polyphenol antioxidants, including ellagic acid, a specific type of polyphenol that has been scientifically proven to help skin and slow the signs of aging.

The antioxidants in pomegranate extract have also been shown to enhance the skin's sun protection, allowing skin cells to better deal with UV rays.
