In this context, the Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population revealed tips to combat acidity during the month of Ramadan, by avoiding eating fried and spicy foods that contain a high percentage of fat, such as processed foods, fatty sweets high in sugar, and foods full of spices, onions, and garlic.

Reduce caffeine consumption

The Ministry of Health and Population added that it is preferable to reduce consumption of caffeine sources, such as coffee, chocolate, and soft drinks, while eating small meals, noting that food should be eaten slowly with good chewing, in addition to avoiding sleeping immediately after eating, as they should be separated by 3 to 4 hours. the least.

The Ministry of Health advised following healthy cooking methods, such as grilling, boiling, or steaming, while avoiding eating a lot of pickles and some fruits such as grapes, grapefruit, oranges, pineapples, and tomatoes.

The Ministry pointed out in a publication that quitting smoking and alcohol and losing weight are factors that help avoid the feeling of heartburn during the month.

Natural recipes

According to the Daily Medical Info website, there are some natural recipes that reduce the occurrence of acidity instead of resorting to drug treatment, including:

– Cabbage juice: Taking two tablespoons of cabbage juice before food reduces the occurrence of acidity.

– Foods that contain vitamin B12 and folic acid reduce acidity.

– Ginger: Some scientific research has shown the role of ginger in resisting acidity and treating stomach ulcers.
