A medical report regarding a new case in Italy revealed that the Corona virus can also cause a rare complication called “subacute thyroiditis.”

Doctors in Italy treated a woman of this condition in what is believed to be the first known case linked to the “Covid-19” virus.

Dr Francesco Latrova, who treated the woman, said: "Physicians should be alerted to the possibility of this additional clinical manifestation related to Covid-19."

The 18-year-old woman, whose name has not been revealed, had tested positive for the emerging coronavirus and had fully recovered from the disease.

Doctors say that the woman began to suffer from neck and thyroid pain, fever and irregular heartbeat after recovering from the virus, and later, the doctors diagnosed her with “subacute thyroiditis.”
