A mother kills her child's colleague with poison for an unbelievable reason

In a horrific incident, an Indian woman put poison in a soft drink and gave it to a 13-year-old boy, because he got better grades than her daughter, who is his classmate.
The story began last Friday when private school students were rehearsing for their annual day, according to the Indian Express website.

The school guard handed the victim child, Bala Manikandan, a bottle of soft drinks during the exercises.

But after drinking the soft drink during the break, he felt unwell, and after arriving home in the afternoon he vomited.

As Manikandan's parents said, he was then taken to Karikal Governmental Hospital where he was supplied with some medicine and sent home.
But he vomited again within two hours, and was taken back to the hospital.

After speaking to their son, the parents and other relatives checked with the school administration about the soft drink, only to discover through CCTV footage that the boy had taken the drink sent by a woman who later became known as Seherani.

In turn, the police said that the boy's condition was stable, but worsened on Saturday, after which he was pronounced dead.
A senior official said the accused had confessed to buying diarrhea pills to prevent the boy from participating in the day's annual event.
He also added that she said she mixed it with the drink and gave the bottle to the guard.
After the boy's death, his parents and relatives staged a protest outside the hospital, claiming that he had not received proper care from the hospital.
