According to doctors, the body needs to sweat to cool the body constantly during exercise. However, when the pores of the skin open while a layer of cosmetics covers it, impurities are trapped, and dirt accumulates on the pores, forming black pimples.

Dr Preethi Daniel, medical director at Doctors of London, said: "Sweat needs to evaporate to cool the body and rid it of impurities, but blocking this process by closing the pores, can cause an overgrowth of microbes such as acne bacteria, which causes spots and the development of small pimples and increase their size."
She advised Daniel to remove cosmetics before starting to exercise, and then wash the face again after finishing.
