The name of Philip Philip shined in college as an outstanding and promising student, participated in military operations for the first time in the Indian Ocean and the Mediterranean, was one of the youngest officers in the Royal Navy.

Throughout this period, Philip was exchanging messages with the young princess Elizabeth, and she was invited to spend time with the royal family on several occasions, and the young princess put his picture in her office in his military uniform.

But the young princess loved him very much, and in the summer of 1946, Philip asked her father for her hand in marriage.

Before the engagement could be announced, Philip had to obtain a new citizenship and a new title. He renounced his Greek title, became a British citizen and took his mother's English name, Mountbatten.

The marriage took place at Westminster Abbey on 20 November 1947.
