Do not eat these foods on an empty stomach
There are some foods that are not recommended to be eaten on an empty stomach because they may cause major problems, including stomach ulcers, vomiting and colon cancer. These foods were monitored by Positive Med, which are:
-tomatoes
Tomatoes are full of vitamins, antioxidants and soluble ingredients. However, when eaten on an empty stomach, these ingredients combine with stomach acid, which can lead to the formation of lumps that press on the stomach and cause pain. This is especially dangerous for people who already suffer from stomach ulcers or acid reflux;
- citrus fruits
Doctors warn against eating citrus fruits on an empty stomach, especially for people who suffer from esophageal problems, especially oranges, grapefruit, tangerines and lemons. Lemons are high in vitamin C, fiber, antioxidants, potassium and calcium, which irritate the esophagus.
- pancakes
Pancakes contain yeast that irritates the stomach lining and causes flatulence.
- Soft drinks
Studies warn against consuming soft drinks in general, as research results have proven that they increase the risk of cancer, heart disease, diabetes and liver damage. Also, soda contains about 8-10 teaspoons of sugar, so eating it on an empty stomach leads to a rise in adrenaline, followed by a rise in the level of sugar in the blood.
- coffee
Drinking coffee on an empty stomach increases hydrochloric acid levels, which can cause vomiting or constipation. Increased levels of this acid affect the digestion of protein, which causes bloating, inflammation of the intestine, or even colon cancer.
