Biden arrives in Britain for Elizabeth's funeral, and the exception and the monster are waiting for him
US President Joe Biden arrived in London with his wife, on Saturday night, to participate in the funeral of the late Queen of Britain, Elizabeth II, with world dignitaries flocking to the British capital to attend the funeral scheduled for Monday.
Biden and US First Lady Jill Biden arrived at Stansted Airport, outside London, on Air Force One.
The couple had a simple reception, in the presence of Jane Hartley, the US ambassador to the United Kingdom, and the representative of the British monarch in Essex, Jennifer Marie Tolhurst.
Biden and his wife left the airport in the presidential armored car, which he dubbed "The Beast."
And the British newspaper, “Daily Mail”, said that Biden and his wife were granted an exception by the British authorities, as they will travel by “the monster car” when they move in the British capital.
On the other hand, Emperor Naruhito of Japan and his wife Empress Masako will, for example, take a bus carrying other world figures.
On Sunday, Biden and his wife will participate in offering condolences on the death of Queen Elizabeth II, and sign the Queen's official condolence book.
Later, he will take part in a reception hosted by King Charles III.
