By a presidential decree.. Umm Kulthum's house in Egypt is a museum and a tourist destination 

An Egyptian presidential decision issued during the past hours, to convert Umm Kulthum's "Planet of the East" house into a tourist museum, and came after the initiative launched by the Egyptian government to develop her village located in Dakahlia Governorate to be a tourist destination.

Among the details revealed by Hilal, Adly Samir, the grandson of Umm Kulthum’s brother, who resides in the house of the late Umm Kulthum, revealed that officials from the presidency contacted him to find out his opinion on converting the house into a tourist museum, with compensation for building another house for them.

He revealed that they did not hesitate at all, as he had previously demanded to restore the house, and to turn it into a tourist museum in the interest of the village, as well as preserving the history of their grandmother with the house in which she grew up.

He also confirmed that the project is scheduled to be implemented effectively after the completion of all studies and procedures, provided that the museum will come to light within a short period.

At the end of his speech, the grandson of Umm Kulthum's brother thanked Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, who took care of the matter, as he issued a decision that would preserve the history of one of the signs of art and singing in Egypt, but rather the entire Arab world.
