Warning of a new Chinese virus

The world has not yet recovered from the Corona pandemic and its consequences at all levels, until BNO News reported a shocking news about a virus no less dangerous, as it quoted the National Health Care Committee of China that the first infection with bird flu of the H3N8 strain in humans was detected in China.

The agency pointed out that the infection was recorded in a 4-year-old boy in Zhumadian City, Henan Province, central China.

The child caught the virus on April 5, after mixing with a pet bird, and was transferred to the hospital on April 10 due to the deterioration of his health.

None of the child's family members have contracted the virus.

According to preliminary assessments, the H3N8 strain is not yet capable of infecting humans on a large scale, so the risk of a large-scale epidemic remains low.

It is noteworthy that the World Health Organization, on Tuesday, had warned that the significant decline in the number of Covid-19 tests being conducted left the world in a blind state about the continuing development of the virus and its potentially dangerous mutations, noting that the virus “is still spreading, mutating and killing.” .

The Covid epidemic, according to official figures, has killed more than 6 million people since it first appeared in China in late 2019, but the real number is believed to be at least three times more.

While many countries are canceling preventive measures and trying to return to a semblance of normality, the World Health Organization stresses that the epidemic is not over yet.

"This virus will not disappear just because countries will stop looking for it," Tedros said, noting that "it is still spreading and still mutating and killing."

He warned that "the emergence of a dangerous new mutant still poses a real threat," adding that "despite the decrease in the number of deaths, we still do not understand the long-term consequences of infection for survivors."
