Learn how to breathe energy to purify your energy
This exercise strengthens your sensitivity as well as your energy storage potential. Joshin Kokyu-Ho is a Reiki term meaning “breathing technique to cleanse your soul.” This exercise teaches you to consciously attract cosmic energy and store this energy in your navel. The tanden, also referred to as hara or dantien in China, is the center of our gravity in our physical body. It is located two or three fingers below the navel (not to be confused with our second chakra).
This technique strengthens your energy and helps you to be a hollow bamboo, a free channel for cosmic energy. As you practice this technique, you increasingly realize that energy is not yours, it is suprapersonal energy. It is the energy that permeates everything and everyone, that gives life to everything in existence and pulsates in all living things, sensitive and insensitive.
Stand in a comfortable position with your feet about shoulder width apart.
Tilt your hips slightly back, about two inches.
Take a few deep breaths. Relax.
Let all the tension out of your body and think of something fun.
Gently open your mouth. Inhale through your nose and exhale through your mouth. Allow your tongue to rest on the roof of your mouth when inhaling and when exhaling, let your tongue drop and rest at the base of your mouth.
Allow your knees to bend in a slow motion, focusing on the lower abdomen. Do it very slowly.
You will notice a spot in the lower abdomen, two or three fingers below the navel.
Be aware that we don't just breathe through our lungs. Science already confirms that every one of our cells breathes. And we not only inhale this mixture of gases called “air,” but we also breathe in what many call energy, ki, chi, prana, regardless of the name... We breathe it through our lungs and through our skin, our largest organ.
Place your hands in front of your navel where the tips of your index fingers and the tips of your thumb touch, forming a triangle pointing down.
Inhale through your nose and exhale through the tanden.
As you inhale, raise your hands to your solar plexus. Imagine not only breathing through your nose, but also breathing through the top of your head.
As you exhale, allow your hands to return to the front of the tanden. As you exhale, allow the sound to exit. Imagine that you, allied with this movement, take all the air and all the energy into your navel. At the same time, imagine yourself exhaling through your feet, rooted deep into the ground.
When we breathe in this way, nothing can disturb our peace. Your mind and body become unshakable. Do this breathing for as long as you like.
