The UAE government announced, during a briefing to the UAE government, which was held this evening, the details of travel procedures for citizens and residents, as from next Tuesday, specific categories of citizens and residents will be allowed to travel to specific destinations according to requirements and procedures in light of preventive measures. and measures The precautionary measures taken by the UAE in the face of COVID-19.

Dr. Saif indicated that the travel door will be allowed for destinations that were identified based on a classification that relied on a methodology followed in distributing countries based on three categories, which are countries that all citizens and residents are allowed to travel to, and they are considered among the low-risk categories, and countries that allow a limited and specific category of citizens to travel to. In emergency cases, and for the purpose of necessary health treatment, first-degree kinship visit, or military, diplomatic and official missions, these countries are considered among the medium-risk categories, in addition to countries that are not allowed to travel at all, and are considered among the high-risk categories.

Dr. Saif also confirmed during the briefing that a UAE travel protocol will be implemented under the current circumstances, which depend on a number of main axes, such as public health, examinations, pre-registration for travel, as well as quarantine, and self-monitoring of the traveler's health, in addition to awareness of the instructions. and precautionary measures.

Dr. Seif also spoke about a number of mandatory requirements that must be adhered to before departure and upon arrival from travel destinations, namely:

First: Citizens and residents of the country must register an application through the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship website, and register for my presence service before traveling.

Second: Conducting a Covid-19 examination before travelling, depending on the health regulations at the desired destination, which may require a recent result that does not exceed 48 hours from the time of travel, provided that the result of the examination is shown through the Al-Hosn application to the concerned authorities at the country’s airports, and travel will not be permitted. Unless the test result is negative for the traveler.

Third: It will not be allowed to travel for people over the age of seventy years, and it is advised to avoid travel for those with chronic diseases in order to preserve their safety.

Fourth: The traveler must obtain an international health insurance that is valid for the entire travel period and covers the desired destination.

Fifth: Commitment to the preventive and precautionary measures recommended at airports, such as wearing masks and gloves, sterilizing hands continuously, and ensuring physical distancing.

Sixth: Heading to the health procedures point at the airport, to check the temperature, as cases whose temperature exceeds 37.8 or who exhibit respiratory symptoms will be isolated. Noting that if a passenger is suspected of being infected with the Covid-19 virus, he will be prevented from traveling, in order to ensure his safety and the safety of others.

Seventh: Travelers, citizens and residents, must fill out the necessary health responsibility forms, including a pledge to quarantine upon return, and a pledge not to move to destinations other than the ones for which they were submitted.

Dr. Seif also touched on the mandatory requirements that must be adhered to upon reaching the desired destination, and before returning to the country, which are: First: If the traveler feels ill, he must go to the nearest health center and use health insurance.

Second: If the citizens were examined during their travel trip at the desired destination by examining Covid 19, and the result of the examination was positive, the UAE embassy at the destination must be notified, either through my presence service or by contacting the embassy. The state mission will ensure the care of citizens infected with Covid 19 and notify the Ministry of Health and Community Protection in the country.

In addition, Dr. Seif spoke about the mandatory requirements that must be adhered to upon returning to the country, which are: First: the obligation to wear masks when entering the country, and at all times. Second: The need to present a form for travel details, in addition to a health status form, and identification documents. .

Third: You must make sure to download and activate the Al-Hosn application of the Ministry of Health and Community Protection.

Fourth: Commitment to home quarantine for a period of 14 days after returning from travel, and it may sometimes reach 7 days for returnees from less dangerous countries or professionals in vital sectors, after conducting a Covid 19 examination.

Fifth: Commitment to examine Covid-19 (PCR) in an approved medical facility for those who suffer from any symptoms, within 48 hours of entering the country.

Sixth: In the event that the traveler is not able to quarantine the home, he must be quarantined in a facility or hotel, while bearing the costs.

During the briefing, Dr. Seif mentioned that there are additional requirements that apply to students on scholarships for study and treatment, diplomatic missions, and students on a work mission from the government and private sectors. They can coordinate with the scholarship agency.

He also stressed that these procedures will be updated periodically, based on developments in events and the health situation.
