Explanation of some phenomena that occur during sleep
Falling asleep
When you are asleep, you wake up suddenly because you feel like you are falling from a top, or an elevator descends, or you feel as if you are falling out of bed. The brain controls the muscles, so the brain invents a small dream in which you feel that you are falling from somewhere.
Flip from side to side
During sleep, the weight of the person puts pressure on the muscles and blood vessels underneath, and these vessels narrow and do not perform their function as required, so the pressure-sensing centers send a signal to the brain, and it gives an order to the muscles, so the person turns to the other side during sleep.
Swallowing during sleep
During sleep, saliva collects in the mouth, and a signal goes to the brain that it has increased saliva in the mouth, so it gives an order to the epiglottis to close the air hole and open the esophageal opening to complete the process of swallowing, and this is done from time to time during sleep.
