The Public Prosecution had reported from Sherbin General Hospital in Dakahlia Governorate in northern Egypt that the girl Jana Mohamed Samir had arrived at the hospital with injuries to various parts of her body and many burns.

The prosecution's investigations also revealed that the parents of the two girls had separated, and their accused grandmother, Safaa Abdel Fattah Abdel Latif, had taken custody of them due to the loss of their mother's sight.

The Public Prosecution also heard the statements of the two girls and witnesses to the incident, who all confirmed the perseverance of the grandmother accused of assaulting the two victims by beating and burning, while the girl Amani explained that the assault was carried out with hard tools.

The forensic medicine also confirmed that these injuries occurred during successive periods of time, confirming the habit and repetition with the intent of torture, and that her death was attributed to these injuries and their complications that led to a failure in her vital body functions and ended with a sharp drop in blood and respiratory circulation that led to her death.

On the other hand, the forensic medicine proved that the second girl, Amani, had first and second degree burns on sensitive parts of her body, and bruises in various parts of the body. He confirmed that these injuries occurred as a result of assaulting her with hard tools, which was agreed upon by the victim.

For its part, the Public Prosecution ordered the placement of the child, Amani Muhammad Samir, in a social care home, in coordination with the Ministry of Social Solidarity, to provide her with a suitable environment in terms of health and psychological aspects.

The Public Prosecution investigated what was raised about the occurrence of sexual assault on the two girls, and the investigations denied the validity of what was raised, as the reports of the Forensic Medicine Authority confirmed that the bodies of the two girls were free, indicating that either of them had been subjected to any sexual assault.
