The truth about the death of the artist, Fayrouz, and the spread of rumors
In conjunction with the protests that erupted in the center of the Lebanese capital, Beirut, the Lebanese and the Arab world were dumbfounded trade News about the death of the great Lebanese singer, Fayrouz.
Rima Rahbani went out, through her account on the "Facebook" social networking site, the next day, Sunday, to deny this rumor.
She wrote: “To those who spread rumors, who still have desire, breath and time in all circumstances, no matter how black, they fabricate the same news! As if they have more desires, they are just rumours!”
After that, Rima Al-Rahbani suggested to those who spread the rumor of her mother's death, Fairouz: "What do you think, since you are so empty and calm, that you entertain with these real facts (a video clip of her family) instead of continuing to kill us falsely and get bored with cheap rumors like you."
It is noteworthy that Fayrouz was affected by the rumor of her death more than once, the last of which was in May, through a message circulating through the instant messaging application “WhatsApp”.
The text of the message stated that "Fayrouz died a short while ago inside the American University Hospital in Beirut."
But a source close to the great Lebanese singer denied this rumor at the time, stressing that she is fine, and the news of her death is absolutely not true, according to the Lebanese newspaper, “An-Nahar”.
Ghassan Rahbani also said about the message circulating about Fairuz's health: "Fayrouz is fine, and we used to hear such rumors every year."
Another source close to Fairouz, 84, indicated that news of her death always spread every two months, "but her condition is better than yours and mine... like iron."
Fayrouz's last appearance was in April, when she went out to recite a prayer for the world's survival from the emerging "Corona" virus crisis, whose number of infected people is increasing day by day.
