Halima Aden, the hijabi model, makes her debut at Paris Fashion Week
Halima Aden, the first hijabi model, published her happiness at her first participation in the Paris Fashion Week 2019 fashion shows.
Halima Aden is a Somali-American model, born in 1997 in the Kakuma refugee camp in Kenya, and immigrated with her family at the age of seven. She wears the Islamic headscarf and participates in modeling competitions In many regions of the world, she also participated in the Miss Minnesota contest in the United States, and in the swimsuit segment, she appeared in the bathing suit known as the “burkini”, and reached the semi-finals of that competition.
She was the first hijab-wearing model to sign a contract with the most important international fashion agency, and she also contributed to designing a sports hijab for Nike.
She also hopes to return home to contribute to refugee children, and she seeks to set an example for the young Muslim community in the United States of America.
