Skin care steps in Ramadan

Skin care in Ramadan must be different from the rest of the months. With the long hours of fasting, the skin can lose its freshness and vitality. What is the solution? Here are the steps for skin care in Ramadan.
 Daily program:

Daily habits vary during the holy month, which leads some women to neglect daily skin care as a result of their many preoccupations. But remember that your skin is affected by the long hours of fasting, and therefore it needs special care so that it does not lose its vitality.

• Upon waking up and before bed: do not neglect the “daily trio” as the steps of cleaning, moisturizing, and sun protection are the basis of your skin care, and it will not cost you more than a minute to apply them. And remember that with fasting, you need it more than any other time. Cleanse and moisturize your skin morning and evening, as for sunscreen, apply it only once in the morning.

• Iftar time: Make the bulk of your diet during Ramadan from foods rich in fiber, vitamins, grains, and minerals. Focus on eating vegetables and fruits to provide the greatest amount of nutrition beneficial to the skin and its health, and stay away as much as possible from excessive intake of fats and sweets that cause disorder in the body that leads to skin fatigue and loss of its freshness.

• After Iftar: Drink enough water to compensate for the loss of fluids from the skin as a result of the fasting period and the heat of the weather, which loses its softness and hydration. Make sure to make drinking water a habit, by keeping a glass of water by your side frequently, taking sips from it intermittently, and refilling the glass whenever it is empty.

• In the evening: Try to devote part of the Ramadan evenings to exercise. This will contribute to providing your skin with the necessary oxygen to support its radiance and youth, and stimulate blood circulation. Make the time of your favorite series or Ramadan program a time to perform exercises, whether on a daily basis or for three days during the week.

- weekly program:

Your skin needs extra care throughout the holy month to help it endure the long hours of fasting.

• Exfoliation: Exfoliation helps rid the skin of dead cells accumulated on its surface and maintain its freshness. Choose a soft scrub that you apply to it once a week, or use facial cleansers that have an exfoliating effect that can be used on a daily basis.

• Nutrition: Nourishing masks, when applied once a week, help provide the skin with the elements it needs to maintain its freshness. It eliminates signs of fatigue and dullness that may appear with the passage of fasting days. Despite the many masks that can be applied, especially at home, using natural materials and fruits, the choice of mask compatible with skin type is the secret to the mask’s success.

The use of nourishing serums is an additional way to nourish the skin. Choose from them the formulas rich in vitamins and beneficial elements for the skin, such as collagen and elastin. It activates cells, nourishes them, and helps to regenerate them by compensating for the nutritional imbalance that they are exposed to as a result of fasting.

• Steam: Use a steam bath for five or ten minutes once a week, and this should be part of your regular facial cleansing regimen. Put a handful of chamomile in a pot of water and leave it on the fire until it boils, turn off the heat and leave the mixture to ferment. After it's cool enough to not allow the steam to burn your skin, place a towel over your head in the form of a tent and expose your face to the steam. After completing this steaming process, do not try to squeeze or remove any pimples from your skin regardless of the reasons and temptations, this step is very effective in opening the pores of your face and allowing any substances or nutrients you apply to reach the cells of the deeper layers of the skin.

Monthly program:

Your skin needs a deep cleansing once during this month, and it also needs rest and relaxation in order to maintain its freshness.

• Deep cleaning: You can do a deep cleaning of your skin only once during this month, and it is better to do it at the beginning. Deep cleaning takes place at the Beauty Institute, which prepares the skin to benefit from the materials and products that are applied to it throughout this period. The cleaning process in itself is not a cosmetic procedure, but it is the key and the way for you to prepare your skin for receiving care products.

• Relaxing in the last week: Following the previous daily and weekly steps will ensure that you enjoy a radiant and fresh skin. During this last week, avoid doing deep cleaning or exfoliation operations because they leave a trace that sometimes needs several days before it disappears and your skin calms down again. During this stage, just relax and rest while continuing to apply the usual daily steps.

• Preparations for the first time: During this last week of Ramadan, do not use any new products or brands. You do not know how suitable it is for you or your skin accepts it, and therefore you risk all the previous steps with a new choice that may cause your skin to irritate or suffer other damages that you need with the advent of Eid Al-Fitr.
