Five seemingly strange causes of moodiness

Mood swings, or “Mood Swings” in English, are a phenomenon used to describe the speed and intensity of the flow of feelings and emotions in people, which affects their psychological state and feeling.

People often describe mood swings as a whirl of conflicting emotions that range from extreme happiness and contentment to anger, distress, and even depression.

Some people may be able to identify the spark that causes a change in their mood, but it is also common for mood swings to occur without an apparent cause. Some may also experience a change in their feelings and psychological state as a result of some mental illnesses and disorders.

Here are 5 reasons that may be behind your moody personality:

1- Eating large amounts of sugar

The food you eat has a direct effect on your brain and on a number of chemicals that are produced in the body that directly affect mental health. Foods rich in fats and sugars have an effect much like drugs and alcohol, as they satisfy the pleasure centers in the brain in the short term, then they withdraw from the body, leaving you in a state of irritation and the desire for more. If you suffer from constant mood swings, or are often labeled as having a moody personality, you may need to reconsider your diet.

You can do the following: Eliminate the processed foods you eat. Avoid sugars in all their forms, and reduce their consumption in your food as much as possible. More than foods rich in vitamins and minerals, especially green leafy vegetables and fruits.

2- Not getting enough sleep

Lack of sleep affects your body in many ways, one of which is that it puts you in a very bad mood. Where it affects your hormones and the ratio of chemicals in your mind, in fact it blurs your focus and makes you unable to differentiate between what is important and what is not important, which may sometimes lead you to feel angry or sad because of things that do not deserve.

If you suffer from issues related to mood swings, try the following:

Check your sleep schedule and see if you're getting enough sleep (in terms of duration and quality). Do not neglect the cleanliness of your sleeping place, as it affects its quality. Set a consistent time to go to bed and wake up. Use relaxation and meditation techniques to fall asleep faster. Also read: How do I achieve emotional balance

3- Physical illnesses

Some people can turn out to be very moody due to a health condition, which is understandable and justified. For how can you be cheerful and settled if you have a fever, or a stuffy nose, or severe pains somewhere in your body? Illness (in all its forms and forms) drains your energy greatly, affects your appetite, increases the rate of dehydration in your body...all of these are factors that lead to an imbalance in your hormones, sugar levels or blood pressure in your body, which ultimately causes your mood to fluctuate and change dramatically.

4- Not eating enough food

When you neglect to eat your meals regularly, or leave a very long time between each meal, your blood sugar level drops, which causes you to feel more anxious. But, fortunately, you can treat this issue by eating a light meal … Try to combine carbohydrates with proteins to get a good energy boost and keep blood sugar levels stable, and do not leave yourself subject to severe hunger that can turn you into a moody and unpredictable personality .

5- Spending too much time with energy vampires

If you spend a large part of your time with frustrated, negative, and pessimistic people, it is very natural that you feel frustrated as well, and it goes without saying that your mood changes quickly every time you meet them. You don't have to cut ties with these people, especially if they are close friends or family members, but instead try to spend more time with more optimistic people who can make you feel happy and positive. Avoid spending time with people who make you feel stressed, and try to find a more fun and relaxed company
