Donald Trump stuns with his medical idea to treat Corona

The statements of US President Donald Trump, Thursday, regarding injecting the body with sterile materials to combat the emerging corona virus, sparked astonishment in the scientific community, with a number of specialists accusing him of "irresponsibility, for putting forward this dangerous proposal", but the criticism took a cynical turn.

Trump had said in a press conference: “I see that sterilizers eliminate it (the Corona virus) in a minute. one minute. Is there a way to do something similar with an injection (into the body)?”

He continued: “It (the virus), as you know, enters the lungs and has a tremendous impact. It may be useful to check this out. You have to get doctors to do that, but it's very interesting.”

The statements of the US President sparked a wave of condemnation among scientists, as a public health expert specializing in the lungs, Doctor Vin Gupta, told NBC: “The idea of injecting the body or drinking any kind of detergent is irresponsible and dangerous. It is a method often used by people who want to commit suicide.”

As Professor of Medicine at the British University of East Anglia, Paul Hunter, said: “This is one of the most foolish and dangerous suggestions on how to treat Covid-19,” stressing that disinfectants will likely kill anyone who tries to use them.

"This is a very reckless statement, because unfortunately there are people around the world who would believe such nonsense and try to experience it for themselves," he told Reuters.

And the condemnation continued on social networks, where the French Center “Marseille Immunopol” sarcastically said: “Setting the body on fire may be a useful alternative solution as well!”, stressing that the means proposed by Trump “will kill the virus and the sick at the same time!”.

Walter Schop, a former director of the Federal Ethics Authority under former Democratic President Barack Obama, tweeted: “Stop broadcasting his press conferences on the Corona virus. They put lives at risk. Please do not drink sterile materials and do not inject yourself with them.”
