Johnson was admitted to St Thomas' Hospital on Sunday evening with a persistent high temperature and a cough, which necessitated his transfer to the intensive care unit on Monday.

And earlier on Wednesday, the British government announced that Johnson's condition is stable and he reacts positively to treatment, and his spirits are high, adding that he "does not work from the hospital, but communicates with his team when he needs it."
