After the Egyptian Criminal Court yesterday upheld the death sentence for the killer of Mansoura University student Naira Ashraf, the defense lawyer revealed that his client asked her to deliver a message to his family, in addition to another request in an effort to reduce his sentence.
In the developments, the lawyer of the accused, Ahmed Hamad, revealed that the killer, Mohamed Adel, gave him the password of his e-mail to get the photos he collected with the victim and present them as evidence.

He also explained that the accused sent a message to his mother reassuring her of his condition, asking her to pardon what he had done, stressing that "he was going through a difficult psychological situation that forced him to do what he did."

According to the Egyptian judicial system, the convict will have the right to resort to other litigation procedures after ratification of the death sentence.

While Naira’s family was surprised a few days ago by unknown persons sending messages on their personal accounts on social media, offering them millions of pounds in ransom in exchange for a pardon for the killer.
While the family announced its rejection of these offers, stressing that millions of pounds are not worth the price of a single drop of their daughter's blood.
