The Apple Watch saves a woman from death after she falls

The Apple Watch contributed to saving the life of a woman from certain death after she suddenly fell to the ground, prompting the watch to call the emergency and ambulance services on its own to help the patient.

In the details, the son of the injured woman reported that his mother was on a business trip, when she began to feel severe pain in her chest, to write to an accompanying friend staying in the same hotel to tell her about her emergency illness.

A short time later, the lady suddenly collapsed and fell to the floor in her room. Later, when the friend arrived at the room, she found the woman lying on the ground, so she called the emergency and ambulance service, but what amazed her was the response that the ambulance had already moved and that she was on her way to the hotel, according to what was reported by 9to5mac.

Critical condition

When the patient arrived at the hospital, she was in critical condition. She was diagnosed with a burst aorta - the main artery of the body - to undergo complex surgery and then be transferred to the intensive care unit to gradually recover and then escape from the danger stage.

The rapid transfer of infected cases of this kind to the nearest designated hospital is the most important step in dealing with them, and the Apple Watch has contributed to this.

It was later revealed that the Apple Watch called emergency services on its own after the sudden fall of the injured woman, through a feature in the watch known as “fall detection.”

The “fall detection” feature helps the user to reach emergency services in the event of a sudden, strong fall, and the watch can distinguish this through the various sensors in it.

After the fall, the case issues an audio alert and a notification of the fall on the screen, and if the user does not respond to it or make a movement within a minute, the watch automatically calls the emergency and gives information via a recorded voice message in addition to sending the geographical location.

It is noteworthy that the “fall detection” feature is available in the fourth generation versions of the watch and later, as well as the SE versions and the Ultra version.
