Shadia leaves our world after a long struggle with illness, and if she goes away from you, where will you go from our hearts?

The able artist, Shadia, died, on Tuesday, at the age of 86, after a health crisis, after which she was taken to the hospital.
And the Egyptian Minister of Culture, Helmy Al-Namnam, mourned her, who was quoted by the Middle East News Agency as saying that the late artist “was a voice for Egypt and the Arab world” through her art.

Shadia was born in Cairo in 1931, and her real name is Fatima Ahmed Kamal Shaker, to a father who loves to play the lute and loves to sing, which encouraged her to work in art.

Shadia presented a variety of films at the beginning of her work in art that bore a comic character, and was famous for the role of the spoiled girl until she was called "Dawaa Cinema", but she gave up singing in a number of her films to prove that she is a capable actress, and not just a light-hearted artist or a singing star.
She appeared to the audience for the first time in a secondary role in the movie "Flowers and Thorns" in 1947, before participating in the same year in the movie "The Mind on Vacation" in front of singer Mohamed Fawzy directed by Helmy Rafla.

Shadia had announced her retirement from art in 1986 after her score exceeded 112 films, most notably “Something of Fear”, “The Unknown Woman”, “The Idol of the Masses”, “Dalilah”, “We Do not Plant Thorns”, “City Lights” and “My Woman”. General Manager” and “The Wife 13”.
Among her films, a large number based on the novels of the late writer Naguib Mahfouz, including “The Thief and the Dogs”, “Miramar” and “Al Mudaq Alley”.
Shadia has about 650 different songs, some of them patriotic and many of them emotional, in most of her films.

In the sixties, she received the title "Sawt Masr", when she presented a number of patriotic songs, most of which were composed by the late Baligh Hamdi, including "Oh my love, Egypt" and "Say to the eye of the sun".
She presented her last film, "Don't Ask Me Who I Am" in 1984, after participating in the only play in which she appeared on stage, "Raya and Sakina" with actress Suhair Al-Babli.

Shadia's death came 48 hours before the end of the thirty-ninth session of the Cairo International Film Festival, which the festival administration named it in honor of the Egyptian artist. The curtain falls on the festival on Thursday evening.

The Academy of Arts in Cairo awarded Shadia an honorary doctorate in a ceremony held on April 27, 2015, but she did not attend the honoring ceremony and received the honorary doctorate on her behalf, Khaled Shaker, her nephew.

Shadia will be buried on Wednesday at the Sayeda Nafisa Mosque in southern Cairo.
