Anger did not subside in northern Syria during the past hours, specifically in the city of Ras al-Ain in the countryside of al-Hasakah Governorate, after the brutal killing of an Iraqi child.

Thousands of voices were calling for the execution of the criminal who kidnapped the young "Yassin Raad al-Mahmoud", an orphan Iraqi refugee, and killed him, then threw him a lifeless body with a smashed face, according to activists on the communication sites.

While a number of Syrians published a picture of the alleged accused, asserting that he was the perpetrator, demanding the maximum degree of retribution against him.

It is noteworthy that many areas in northern Syria are under the control of Turkish-backed factions, which have launched four incursions into the country since 2016. The Turkish presence expanded in 2017, when Ankara struck a deal with Moscow and Tehran that resulted in the deployment of Turkish forces in 12 locations in the Idlib region in northwestern Syria.

This was also followed in 2018 by a new attack targeting Afrin, which is under the control of the Syrian Democratic Forces, and then another incursion in 2019 into the territory of the Syrian Democratic Forces between the border towns of Ras al-Ain and Tal Abyad.

For years, many members of these Ankara-backed factions have been accused of committing violations and crimes, and more recently, kidnappings with the aim of extortion and money collection.
