In this context, Professor Boss explains that smell is a sense that is activated when special cells in the nose recognize the smell of molecules of the chemical, but the processes that support this phenomenon are not limited to the nasal passages, as those same chemical pathways actually help in regulating a range of functions Other cells in the body, including hair growth.”

The researchers seem to have focused on what's called OR2AT4, which is stimulated by the sandalores, which can be found in the outer layer of hair follicles.

They also found that by applying sandalore to the scalp tissue, it can increase hair growth by reducing follicle death.

The journal Nature Communications, which published the results of the scientific study, notes that these data are sufficient to achieve "clinically relevant functional hair growth effects."
