Coming Mars, but the missile exploded
After the Starship rocket intended for long-range space flights exploded during its return to Earth and landing yesterday, Wednesday, during an experiment conducted by the company that owns it, Spacex of the American billionaire, Elon Musk, who runs it, the latter considered that the experiment was successful despite the explosion of the rocket.
As he explained Masks On Twitter, commenting on the experiments, the pressure in the upper fuel tank was low during the descent, causing high speed and unplanned rapid disintegration, but the company obtained all the data it needed.
He added that the take-off, the operation of the upper tanks, and the precise control of the flaps until the moment of landing were successful, continuing: "We are coming, Mars!"
Exploded after a few minutes
It is noteworthy that a live broadcast of the flight of the prototype of the missile showed it detonating upon landing, minutes after a test launch from the company's facility in Boca Chica, Texas.
The self-guided rocket is a 16-story prototype of a launch vehicle the company is developing to carry people and 100-tonne cargo on future trips to the moon and Mars.
The purpose of the missile test operating with three of the company's newly developed "Raptor engines", was to reach an altitude of 41 feet, but a malfunction led to its explosion.
