One drop of blood, introduces you to the unknown cause of your allergy

For those who panic after every rash, and their skin becomes red spots and coughs, they resort to various types of allergy medications that tire the body, the most famous of which contains cortisone, which increases their anxiety, without knowing what is the reason for this sudden physical aversion, or what is the cause of this allergy, So, after all these tragedies, the US Food and Drug Administration approved a new test that allows rapid diagnosis of allergic cases using a single drop of blood, and in just 8 minutes.
The test was developed by the Swiss company “Epionic”, which is affiliated with the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne, and it took 5 years to develop the test, according to “Anatolia” agency.

The company explained, in a statement on its website, that the test requires single-use capsules, which are placed in a portable test device that can currently detect the four common allergens, which are dogs, cats, dust, trees or grass.
She added that the drop of blood is placed in the test device on a dish that resembles a CD after mixing it with a chemical reagent, and the initial results appear on a high-resolution screen within 5 minutes, and the type of sensitivity is determined within 8 minutes of conducting the test.
According to the company, the test called “Ibioscope” is the fastest allergy test in the world, as it is now possible to detect the four most common allergens without the use of traditional tests, in addition to the ease of conducting the test, and the rapid appearance of results.
It is expected that the iBioscope test will enter the US market in 2018, but it was granted permission to enter the European market before that.
According to the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, general allergic diseases have increased during the past 50 years, as a result of the increase in cases among school children by 40%-50%.
The Asthma and Allergy Society of America indicated that cases of allergy, whether nasal allergy or food allergy, occupy the sixth place in the causes of death caused by chronic diseases in the United States.

Rapid diagnosis of allergy cases may facilitate treatment and reduce costs, in addition to saving lives through early detection of allergens before it is too late.
