Karl Lagerfeld has announced the launch of the capsule collection for the 2017 festive season under the title “Karl in New York”. Designer Karl Lagerfeld and his famous cat, Choupette, head to New York City to celebrate the festive season in Manhattan. They both enjoy visiting the Big Apple together as the city transforms in concrete and takes on a captivating winter outfit – from ice skating in the Rockefeller Center courtyard, shopping on New York Fifth Avenue, to riding in iconic yellow taxis. . The collection will be available from November 2, 2017, in Karl Lagerfeld boutiques around the world, a select number of partner wholesalers, and on KARL.COM.

The prints in the collection show Karl and Choupette weathering the winter cold by donning hats and scarves as they ice skate and sip hot chocolate. The New York City skyline appears in the background with metallic details that mimic the city's sparkling lights. Whereas, glitter and pearl accents are added to the taxi lights, embodied in the colorful patches of appliqué.

The ready-to-wear designs presented in the collection blend everyday essentials with classic evening wear, leaving an eclectic impact of mixing different pieces. Daytime fashion included sweatshirts and hoodies, both in soft plush fabric, along with treated jeans, and printed T-shirts, as well as warm fleece sweaters. For elegant festive occasions, the collection includes fringed bouclé skirts and jackets, an elegant white tuxedo jacket and a pleated skirt in shimmering fabric.

As for the accessories, it includes shopping bags, shoulder bags, camera bags and small evening bags with elegant and fun touches at the same time. The setting is made of cat-shaped pearls, leather appliques and brocade technology inspired by snowflakes. Soft accessories range from passport holders' key rings, gloves, scarf, phone covers and hoods in cashmere yarns.
