Karl Lagerfeld passes away at the age of 85

According to press reports, the famous fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld died after suffering from a health problem, which he had been suffering from over the past weeks.

During his illness, the designer missed two Chanel fashion shows, and the company said at the time that he was "feeling unwell," according to the British newspaper, The Sun.

"Mr. Lagerfeld, Chanel's artistic director, who was feeling unwell, asked Virginie Viard, the company's artistic studio director, to represent him," Chanel said in a statement after he missed the second fashion show.

 It was the first time in his history that he missed the runway at the end of a fashion show at Chanel.

Lagerfeld was the head of the fashion house founded by Coco Chanel for three decades, and he presented 3 fashion collections annually.
