All you need to know about this year's El Gouna Film Festival

An elaborate Hollywood organization, which was witnessed by the El Gouna Festival last year, so how can this be, if you are a fan of Arab cinema and follow its famous people? The administration of the festival, which is organized annually in the tourist resort of El Gouna on the Red Sea in Egypt, announced on Sunday that it had prepared a special program to celebrate each of the three directors, including showing some films in addition to other activities.

On the tenth anniversary of Shaheen's departure (1926-2008), the festival, in cooperation with the Egyptian International Film Company, will present a restored digital copy of the movie (The Emigrant), in the presence of the film's producers, Gabi and Marian Khoury, and a number of work makers.

The screening of the film is accompanied by a comprehensive exhibition of Shaheen's films advertising posters and some of his belongings that were used in the film industry.

The second edition of the El Gouna Film Festival will be held from September 20 to 28.

On the centenary of Bergman's birth (1918-2007), the festival, in cooperation with the Embassy of Sweden in Egypt and the Swedish Film Foundation, will present two newly restored copies of the films (Persona) and (Wild Strawberries). The festival will also host an exhibition of posters, photos and interactive videos on the director's work.

The El Gouna Film Festival aims to combine cinema and tourism at a time when Egypt is working to recover from the effects of about six years of stagnation in the tourism sector, due to political and economic turmoil.

On the 1920th anniversary of Fellini's passing (1993-XNUMX), the festival will present two of his most prominent films, "Eight and a Half" and "Roma".

El Gouna Film Festival drew attention in its first edition last year thanks to its great financial capabilities, good organization, and its invitation to a number of international stars, in addition to selecting the latest films produced within its program.
