How to sterilize N95 masks for reuse
The researchers indicated that exposing contaminated N95 masks to hydrogen peroxide (VHP) or ultraviolet (UV) light removes the Sars_cov2 virus and maintains its safety for up to three uses. Three uses compared to VHP technology.
Scientists compared four ways to remove contamination and viruses from masks, and all of these methods removed the virus, but with a difference in the time needed to remove contamination, as (VHP) is the fastest method that removed pollution within 10 minutes, while ultraviolet rays and dry heat (70 degrees Celsius) took about 60 minutes, and the use of 70% ethanol spray (ethyl alcohol) required a middle time between the two previous methods, but scientists did not advise following this method and found that the first three methods were more successful, because the masks did not work effectively after disinfecting them with ethanol.
By following one of these methods, we can reuse N95 masks and medical masks when there are not enough quantities of them
