For women, this is how you avoid osteoporosis after fifty

The European Association of Elderly Women recommends that post-menopausal women should increase their calcium-rich foods intake to avoid the risk of osteoporosis.
The association indicated that osteoporosis is common and affects one out of every 3 women around the world, and the results of its research were published today, Friday, in the scientific journal Maturitas, according to the Anatolia Agency.

She added that the recommended daily intake of calcium after menopause ranges from 700 to 1200 milligrams per day.
The association noted that official US data revealed that less than a third of women between the ages of 9 and 71 are keen to eat the recommended daily limit of calcium per day.
She pointed out that calcium should be an essential part of the diet from childhood to old age, and that women need to become more aware of the importance of calcium for health, and the need to eat calcium-rich foods.
Calcium is abundant in milk and its derivatives such as cheese, labneh and yogurt, in addition to leafy vegetables such as spinach, molokhia, broccoli, turnip, cauliflower and cabbage.
It is also found in raw nuts such as almonds, walnuts, hazelnuts, cashews, legumes such as chickpeas, beans, peas, lentils, okra and seeds such as sunflower, in addition to fig fruits, and nutritional supplements that are abundant in pharmacies.
Osteoarthritis is the most common form of arthritis, affecting millions of people worldwide, including an estimated 30 million people in the United States alone.
Osteoarthritis causes severe pain and swelling in the joints and cartilage, and its effect appears in particular in the knees, hips, hands and spine.
