Why they banned applause completely?

Although applause is considered one of the enthusiastic and cheerful habits that reflect all admiration and respect, it was read that an ancient British university recommended that clapping be prohibited on campus or any other occasions such as receptions or others.

She claimed that it causes anxiety and tension for some people who suffer from sensory problems in this regard.

The University of Manchester Consortium has issued a statement banning this social practice for the first time in the academic institution's history.

An alternative would be the so-called "jazz gesture", a British sign language in which the hands are raised and moved slightly silently, as a kind of greeting or expression of joy or victory.

The university statement said that the applause makes a problematic noise for some students who suffer from loud voices or certain psychological problems.

The administration wants this to be more inclusive by encouraging groups of students to do the same on all occasions.

Although there is opposition from some to the decision, it was approved by 66 percent, which means that it will be implemented.

This decision was prompted to protect the rights of students who suffer from psychological problems or some diseases in this regard, which provides them with a more comfortable atmosphere.
