“Vimto” drink is considered one of the drinks that is very popular in the Arab countries, especially in the blessed month of Ramadan, so that this British drink became, for several decades, a part of Ramadan traditions, but what is the story of the origin of this drink and how it reached the Arab countries for the first time Once ?

Vimto was founded in Manchester, England in 1908 by twenty-five-year-old John Noel Nicholas, who was mainly working as a seller of herbs and medicinal drugs. The year 1912 changed to its current name “Vimto”, but the strange thing is that “Vimto” was initially registered as a medical drug and a health tonic before being re-registered in 1913 as a non-alcoholic drink.
In 1920, the drink was exported to India, which was then part of the British Empire, and in 1928 it moved through the Indian employees to the Arabian Gulf region, where the sweet-tasting drink became very popular until it became an essential part of the breakfast table in the blessed month of Ramadan, and in the seventies The “Vimto” factory was opened in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, which currently produces about 20 million bottles annually.
